Per our Association by-laws, it is time to vote to elect a new member of our Executive Board.  Board members serve a term of three years.  Chuck Wattles, our current Executive Board President, is rotating off, and the Board is deeply grateful for his selfless and principled service.

Please read the following candidate bios and submit your vote below.  Thank you, and we hope to see you soon!

Jodie Fisher, Class of 1981:
Jodie Fisher started attending Christian Science Sunday School in Ventura, CA when she was 8 years old, and later on in Santa Barbara, CA. She attended Principia College, and later took class instruction with Ron Ballard, CSB, in his second class. She is currently an active member of the Rancho Santa Fe Branch Church in the San Diego area, where she is a volunteer minister at Camp Pendleton Marine Base, teaching Sunday School to Marine Recruits. She currently serves as Board President of the Sunland Home Foundation Christian Science Nursing Facility in Encinitas, CA.

Michael Brown, Class of 2008:
Michael Brown is a Navy Chaplain currently serving in Norfolk, VA.  After graduating from Principia College, Michael briefly taught religion and ethics at the school.  Returning to his hometown of Seattle, he worked for Attorney Bud Krogh, also a long-time friend of Ron’s, to develop programs and lectures to promote integrity in public policy and decision-making.  He followed this work with a career shift into the aviation industry, where he worked as a station and flight operations manager for a Seattle seaplane airline.  In response to a growing desire to enter the public practice of Christian Science, Michael joined The Mother Church’s Chaplain Training Program in 2009 and moved to Boston to attend graduate school at Boston University.  After graduating with a Master of Divinity and completing the US Navy’s chaplain candidate program, he was selected for active duty service as a chaplain.  Michael first met Ron at one of his lectures in Washington State, and when he approached him afterwards, he remembers having the clear feeling that he was speaking with his Christian Science teacher.  That first introduction led to many more conversations, and Michael became a member of Ron’s 2008 primary class.  He lives in Norfolk with his wife, Lane, and their son, William.

Kristin Messer, Class of 2010:
Kristin Messer is a public interest attorney in San Francisco.  She grew up in a loving Christian Science household, attending Sunday School in Carmichael, CA.  After graduating from Principia College in 2002, she lived in Kentucky and Ohio, following the progression of her husband Adam’s career, and completing her academic studies.  Ron was a family friend, and as a result, Kristin heard him lecture on occasion over the years.  But it was in Ohio that she first, as an adult, heard Ron lecture and was drawn to his clear and pragmatic approach to Christian Science practice.  She and Adam went through Primary Class a few years later when they moved to San Francisco. Kristin loves being a part of the Association and learning more through relationships with fellow members.
