Jodie Fisher, Class of 1981
Jodie started attending Christian Science Sunday School in Ventura, CA when she was 8 years old, and later on in Santa Barbara, CA. She attended Principia College, and later took class instruction with Ron Ballard, CSB, in his second class. She is currently an active member of the Rancho Santa Fe Branch Church in the San Diego area, where she was recently a volunteer minister at Camp Pendleton Marine Base, teaching Sunday School to Marine Recruits. Currently, Jodie works with a non-profit which supports military personnel with their transition from military to civilian life. She serves as Board President of the Sunland Home Foundation Christian Science Nursing Facility in Encinitas, CA.
Linda Hanson, Class of 1980
Linda grew up in the Seattle area, graduating from the University of WA. When her father moved to San Francisco in the late 70’s she attended First Church, SF whenever she visited and had the opportunity to meet Ron. As soon as he became a teacher she knew immediately she wanted to be in his first class, and will never forget how wonderful those two weeks were. Ron helped her work through many challenges over the years and she continues to get fresh insight and a new sense of relationship with him from his recordings and writings. She is an active member of 12th Church of Christ, Scientist in Seattle, and very grateful to be a member of this Association. She is currently a Product Manager at AT&T in Seattle.
Allan Marquart, Class of 1990
Allan Marquardt was raised in Christian Science and met Ron as a member of First Church if Christ, Scientist, San Francisco in 1984. He attended Ron’s primary class in 1990, and though he’s not lived in California since then has not missed an association day. He served our Association as treasurer for a number of years and was instrumental in supported its transition after Ron’s passing, including the arranging for a speaker that year and drafting necessary revisions to its Bylaws. Allan has served on two branch church boards and on the boards of other Christian Science institutions, one of them as board president. He has been a second reader of his branch church, taught Sunday School for many years, led various branch church committees, done extensive joint institutional work, and is mentoring a Discovery Bound National Leadership Council student. Allan is grateful to be a member of this Association and would welcome the opportunity to serve on its executive board.
